Goff was a tall middleweight who was quite scrappy; He had a short career but a fairly good one; He was not a power hitter but had a long reach that was rather difficult to get past

During his career, he defeated such men as Charley Johnson, Fred Morris, Paddy Gorman, Billy Hennessey, Tom "Stockings" Conroy, Jim Watts, Dick Moore and Jim Franey
