Tiger was a very active fighter, full of energy, and capable of beating larger men; He was so skilled that he won the WBC and WBA Light-Heavyweight Championships of the World but is more highly regarded as a middleweight where he won the WBC and WBA Middleweight Championships of the World and the Middleweight Championship of the British Empire

Charley Rose ranked him as the #8 All-Time Middleweight; Herb Goldman ranked him as the #9 All-Time Middleweight; Tiger was elected to the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1974 and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991
