Apostoli was a very talented fighter who had an outstanding career that was interrupted by World War II; He lost only 10 of 72 bouts and scored 31 knockouts; During his career, he won the IBU Middleweight Championship of the World and the Middleweight Championship of the World (as recognized by New York state)

Apostoli was inducted into the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1978
