Georgie defeated such men as Jimmy Jones, Teddy Yarosz, Phil Furr, Harry Balsamo, Lou Brouillard, Billy Soose, Vincent Pimpinella, Ernie Vigh, Cocoa Kid, Isidoro "Izzy" Jannazzo, Jimmy Leto, Coley Welch, Steve Mamakos, Steve Belloise and Anton Raadik

He was inducted in to the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 2005
