RESCHEDULED MARQUEZ-ABRAHAM BOUT RETURNS TO PAY-PER-VIEW
As reported last week, number one IBF middleweight contender Raul Marquez will finally get his shot at Arthur Abraham on November 8th, after their October 4th bout was scrapped due to a case of the flu suffered by the champion. Now it’s been confirmed that the championship bout will be aired live in the United States on pay-per-view, beginning at 3pm ET / 12pm PT. Suggested retail price is $24.95.

“IRON HORSE” BACK ON TRACK, VASQUEZ WINS AGAIN
On Saturday, October 11th, junior middleweight contender Sechew Powell returned to the ring for the first time since his upset loss to Deandre Latimore in June, and the “Iron Horse” was in fine form once again as he scored a near shutout eight round decision win over always tough Clarence Taylor at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota. The victory ups Powell’s record to 24-2 with 14 KOs. Also in action was Warriors’ highly-touted heavyweight prospect Wilmer Vasquez, who improved to 7-0 (4 KOs) with a six round unanimous decision win over 35-fight veteran Charles Davis.

122-POUND SUPERFIGHT BETWEEN CABALLERO AND MOLITOR LANDS ON SHOWTIME
Two of the best 122-pound fighters in the world will finally meet on Saturday, November 21nd, when WBA super bantamweight champion Celestino “Pellenchin” Caballero (30-2, 21 KOs) takes on IBF super bantamweight champ Steve Molitor (28-0, 11 KOs) in a 12 round unification bout. This highly-anticipated matchup will air live on Showtime’s ShoBox series from Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada, beginning at 11pm ET.

URANGO CLOSING IN ON 2009 TITLE SHOT
Former IBF junior welterweight champion Juan Urango has been both patient and active in the last year and a half, winning three bouts (all by knockout) as he fought his way back up the 140-pound ranks. Now, after a fourth round knockout of Carlos Wilfredo Vilches in April, Urango is back at the top and he hopes to get his belt back in January against Herman Ngoudjo.

“Urango and Ngoudjou are the two leading contenders for the vacant IBF title, and we hope to commence negotiations for a January championship fight as soon as possible,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing. “This fight would be the perfect way to kick off 2009, and we’re looking forward to getting it done so Juan can get his title back.”
