Chandler was a splendid fighter - a busy counter-puncher who carried a nice punch; He lost only two bouts in his career and won the WBA Bantamweight Championship of the World, the NBA Bantamweight Championship and the USBA Bantamweight Championship

He defeated such men as Jose "Gaby" Canizales, Julian Solis, Jorge Lujan, Johnny Carter, Eijiro Murata, Andres Hernandez, Hector Cortez, Oscar Muniz, Miguel, Iriarte, Javier Flores and Baby Kid Chocolate

Herb Goldman ranked Chandler as the #10 All-Time Bantamweight; Jeff was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2000 and the World Boxing Hall of Fame
