Galindez was an exciting fighter to watch; He came to slug it out and win; He always gave a good account of himself; During his career, he won the WBA Light Heavyweight Championship of the World, the Light Heavyweight Championship of South America and the Light Heavyweight Championship of Argentina

Victor defeated such men as Eddie Gregory, Mike Rossman, Richie Kates, Jorge Victor Ahumada, Alvaro "Yaqui" Lopez, Pierre Fourie, Ramon Avenamar Peralta and Ray Anderson

Galindez was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2002

          to repair two detached retinas; In his brief retirement,
          Galindez decided that he would pursue one of his dreams
          of becoming a race car driver; While he was driving in
          the Turismo Carretera race on October 25, 1980 his 
          car broke down; As he was waiting along the track for
          assistance, another car passing by lost control and ran
          over Galindez; He was killed instantly
