(Publishing date should be here)It was with a real sense of loss, late last winter, that I received Chris Bushnell's retirement as a fight reporter. Chris has been with us for years & in my no-so-humble estimation, he is the finest, most detailed fight reporter in the history of our sport. Chris & his wife are the proud parents of a new baby boy & he also had just gotten a new job as the editor of a website that will actually pay him some $$$. Also, after years of incredibly detailed reports he was burned out & had gotten to the point where he just wanted to watch a fight as an aficionado & not a reporter. Yeah, well ... I didn't/don't like it much that Chris was leaving us but I sure can respect it. I talked to him because I realize that there was an incredibly rich archive of boxing history he had written over the years. I didn't want it to disappear into the ether of cyberspace so I requested that the CBZ set up a section where we could display his outstanding work. Kristian Nordestgaard who has been pitching in doing stalwart webmaster duty for us, has put together the Boxing Chronicle archive on the CBZ site for all us aficionado's & historians to peruse & enjoy. What you will find are the most incredibly detailed fight reports you will ever read. Not to say it's dry, scholarly stuff because Chris is not only one helluva writer, he's a very entertaining one also ...
