Marciano is considered by some experts to be the strongest of all the heavyweights and the hardest hitter; He had a chin of iron and took considerable punishment in order to get close enough to land his haymaker punches; He was belligerent to the point of unbelievable unless seen in action

Rocky was a small heavyweight in statue but a big heavyweight in punching power; He was muscular and stocky, struck brutal blows with each fist and was rough, tough and durable; He was one of only nine men to retire unbeaten over his entire career; The others were Young Mitchell, Jack McAuliffe, Jimmy Barry, Laszlo Papp, Terry Marsh, Ji Won Kim, Ricardo Lopez and Sven Ottke

Herb Goldman ranked Marciano as the #7 All-Time Heavyweight; Charley Rose ranked him as the #8 All-Time Heavyweight; Nat Fleischer ranked Rocky as the #10 All-Time Heavyweight; Marciano was inducted into the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1959 and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990
