GOLDEN BOY CHARGED IN CIVIL COURT
An 18 year old woman living in San Bernadino, CA has charged in a $10 million lawsuit filed yesterday that Oscar De La Hoya raped her while on vacation in Mexico three years ago.
RIGHT TO THE POINT
I'm not going to skip around things here. If this broad (I'll call her what I want) is telling the truth that the WBC welterweight champion held her against her will and sexually assaulted her, why in God's name would she wait three years to go forward with these charges?
Having been a policeman and an investigator for an attorney, I can tell you that this smells like an unserviced Porta' Potty after an NFL game. The woman, then 15, is saying she was on a school sponsored vacation when this allegedly occurred. And that the reason she didn't come forward before hand was that her Psychological state was so traumatized that she couldn't bring
herself to it.
NO CRIMINAL CHARGES...
Were filed by the complaintent. It's being reported that this matter had never been placed before a District Attorney in San Bernadino. Folks, can you smell it?
DANCING ON TABLES!
Oscar did raise a few eyebrows while on vacation in Mexico, he was dancing on top of tables in a raucous manner in a nightclub where he was said to be less than fully clothed.
TOP RANK SAYS
The group that promotes De La Hoya, Top Rank's President Bob Arum said today. "There will be no settlement. We are looking forward to litigating these charges. This is all about money."
Rarely do I concur with Master Bob, but on this one we stand together. I am personally of the opinion that all this crap is being fueled by bitch's like Paula Jones who can take down huge settlements with unsubstantiated charges.
NOT CONDONING OMINOUS ACTS
I know Sexual assaults and the like are reprehensible. But the parties filing such litigation are aware of the huge cost in defending such, thus the matter is settled with cash and no admittance by the accused.
DE LA HOYA NOT AVAILABLE
Oscar is on vacation with his current girlfriend in Mexico.
KING SCORES TKO OVER FELIX
That headline should probably include the Duva clan and HBO as they too were TKO losers to Don King as Federal Court Judge Lawrence McKenna has ruled there is validity to Don King's contract with Felix Trinidad, therefore nullifying the pact Felix signed with Main Events in July.
The Trinidad's and the Duva mouthpiece Patrick English are debating an appeal. I can tell you that from a legal mind, the chance of success is less than 10 %. And all the while Trinidad ain't fighting, he's getting older.
HBO AIN'T TALKIN'
Lou Di Bella, the V.P. of Sports Programing at HBO refused comment from Palm Springs this morning. He referred the matter to Main Events, the firm run by the Duva family of Lou, Dino, and Kathy Duva.
ON HOLD FIVE MINUTES
Having called Main Events this AM, and fter being on hold for nearly two rounds I hung up. I was hoping Don Trembley, the P.R. guy for Main Events would call me back. He didn't.
ARE YOU READY?
To start calling me the Kreskin of boxing? I told you King had "good" paper on the undefeated Puerto Rican, whose days of prime are slipping away as I type.
