McCarty was a "White
Hope" Champion; He claimed the Heavyweight Championship during Jack
Johnson's troubles with the United States Government and was considered
the best of all White Hopes; Many felt that could have won the title
from Johnson
He was tall, fast, strong and agile; He was cool-headed and did not
waste blows; He threw whip-like straight, strong left jabs, often
followed by a wicked right swing or uppercut; He hit to the head and
body with precision; He was just 21 when he died |
