Klaus was a short and stocky, two-fisted fighter who excelled at inside fighting; He was difficult to hold off and when he got inside, he was a terrific puncher; He was game and durable and could take it as well as dish it out; During his career, he won the Middleweight Championship of the World

Nat Fleischer ranked Klaus as the #6 All-Time Middleweight; Charley Rose ranked him as the #9 All-Time Middleweight; Klaus was inducted into the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1974
