T he 7 Feathers Casino's held its fifth pro fight card on a Wednesday night, the first show in this venue for Cedric Kushner Promotions. A spokesman for the resort says the next show will probably be on a weekend in May of 2001.

The main event ended abruptly in a No Contest at 1:42 of the first round after an accidental clash of heads and a resulting cut. The scheduled ten rounder matched John "The Eastern Beast" Brown (137 lbs) of Atlantic City, NJ, 22-7-0, 10 KO's against Javier Valdez (138 lbs) with a record of 15-9-1, 13 KO's of Hermosillo, Mexico. Valdez suffered a severe cut on the eyelid and was unable to continue.

On the Undercard:

Awel Abdulai (141 lbs) of Ghana, fighting out of Las vegas moved up to 8-11-1, 3 KO's with a split decision win over six rounds against Darrelle Sukerow (137 lbs, now 9-4, 4 KO's, of Edmonton, Canada.

Jose "Tony" Martinez (151 lbs) of Woodburn, OR went to 8-1, 5 KO's with a unanimous decision in six rounds over Ron Pasek (150 lbs), now 9-14-3, 5 KO's, of Edmonton, Canada.

An eight round heavyweight match had David Defiagbon (227 lbs), now 14-0, 8 KO's of Las Vegas winning a unanimous decision over Louis Monaco (234 lbs) now 11-22-3, 5 KO's of Denver, CO.

In a scheduled four rounder, Cesar Garcia (128 1/2 lbs) of Salem, OR stopped Daniel Lopez (133 lbs) of Eugene, OR at 2:26 of the first round.
