Ex-WBA Super-Feather Champ Choi Sinks Filipino Neri in 4: Joe Koizumi

June 19, 1999
PUSAN, KOREA-Ex-WBA super-feather champ YONGSOO CHOI, 131, participated in his second comeback fight since forfeiting his world throne to Takanori Hatakeyama, and scored a fine KO victory over Filipino ARIEL NERI in a scheduled 10.

But it wasn't such an easy fight for Choi. Neri gamely came forward to deck an upset win with powerful shots. Choi was more accurate in catching the target and covered himself up properly. But Neri caught Choi with a strong right uppercut and almost stunned the ex-champ in the third. But Choi came back hard to land a wicked right to send him to dreamland.
