Walcott was a fighter who truly got better as the years passed; He carried a strong punch, was fairly quick with his delivery, and was very crafty in body and arm movements which helped to set up his opponents for his quick lefts

Herb Goldman ranked Walcott the #13 All-Time Heavyweight; Jersey Joe was inducted into the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1969 and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990
