He defeated such men as Marlon Starling, Milton McCrory, Gianfranco Rosi, Bruce Finch, Carlos Santos, Bret Lally, Adolfo Viruet, Rene Jacquot, Jun Suk Hwang, Lupe Aquino, Roger Stafford, Elio Diaz, Nino La Rocca, Colin Jones, James Green and Tony Montgomery
