TYSON "SAFE" AT
FIRST
The Mike Tyson story is over for this month. Mike went to bat against the NSAC and
got a hit. Even though the former champion received his boxing license, don't count
on Mike having more then one fight in the next couple of years.
Tyson will most likely fight in early December to avoid foreclosure on some of his
property. This will also coincide with his December 1, trial in Maryland over the
fender bender in which Tyson is alleged to have kicked one man and punched another.
SLAMMER A POSSIBILITY
If the case is not settled by then and Tyson is convicted, its back to Pee Wee's
Playhouse (aka the Big House).
I DIDN'T
Does anybody honestly believe that Mike Tyson's wife Monica did not see the incident
between Mike and the other gentlemen over the traffic altercation as she stated.
AN ADMISSION?
Mike himself went as far as to admit that he over reacted to the situation. Tyson
said he "didn't really hit anybody. If he said I did, I was unconscious and I'll say
I'm sorry," Tyson said.
I think that tells the story in itself!
SORRY SEEMED TO BE THE WORD
I lost count on how many times during the hearing Mike said he was sorry only to avoid the
question at hand. I seriously doubt that Mike and the two plaintiffs were hugging
and crying with each other as Mike stated during the televised hearing.
JOHNSON IS LEDGIT, BUT MAGIC HAS AN ULTERIOR MOTIVE
I do believe Magic Johnson was sincere in his speaking to the NSAC but lets face it, Magic
has been a long time boxing fan and I wonder if Magic would go to bat for Tommy Lee after
his abuse to Pamela. Hell the first time I ever saw Magic was at a boxing event and
not a basketball game.
Magic has applied for and is expected to receive a promoter's license in Nevada and is
looking to have Mike in the fold.
GREATEST PRESENT TOO
The biggest gun of all was Muhammad Ali. Ali's wife Lonnie read a statement from the
Greatest for the commission to absorb. I think that by having these two speak on
Mike's behalf, this is what swayed the commission in Tyson's favor.
BOXING IS DOING GREAT WITHOUT HIM
Everybody talks about boxing needs Mike and the game can't survive without Mike. I
disagree and think boxing is on the verge of having its best years.
SIDESHOW MIKIE
Mike Tyson to me is like the Donkey show in Mexico. Nobody cares what the lady looks
like, they just want to see the Donkey. This is the Mike Tyson show, nobody cares who he
fights, just as long as they get to see the Maniac Mike in action.
TIME TO MOVE ON
At least this administrative farce in Nevada is over and we can start to talk about the
confirmed March 13, date for Lennox Lewis' challenge of world heavyweight champion Evander
Holyfield.
